Supply + installation

Installation Across Sydney

Across the Sydney metropolitan area we handle the whole job: measure the opening, build the gate to those measurements and install it. One team, one point of responsibility.

The process

What installation actually involves

Six stages, and the first two are where most of the value is. Almost every problem with a gate traces back to a measurement or to a post.

  1. 01

    Consultation

You tell us what you are trying to achieve — privacy, security, an open frontage, matching an existing fence — and we tell you which styles genuinely suit.

  2. 02

    Site measure

We measure the opening at multiple points, check what the gate fixes to on each side and look at ground levels, fall and access.

  3. 03

    Specification and quote

Dimensions, style, slat spacing, colour, hardware, posts and any automation are set down in writing with a price for your project.

  4. 04

    Manufacture

The gate or fencing is fabricated to the measurements we took and powder coated in your colour.

  5. 05

    Installation

Posts are set where they need to be, the product is fitted, gates are adjusted to swing or slide properly and hardware is set up.

  6. 06

    Handover

We walk you through operating and maintaining it, and the site is left clean.

Why it matters

The posts do most of the work

A gate is only ever as good as what it hangs off. A post that is undersized for the leaf, or not set deep enough, or not plumb, will let a perfectly built gate drop, drag and stop latching within a season. It is the single most common reason an otherwise good gate stops working properly.

That is why the site measure looks at more than the opening width. What the ground is — soil, clay, sandstone, existing concrete — determines how a post is founded. Where services run determines where a post can go at all. Ground fall across the opening determines how low the leaf can sit and how big the gap has to be at the low end.

None of that can be assessed from a photograph, which is why for installed work we come and look. For supply-only work it becomes your installer's responsibility, and it is worth making sure they treat it as seriously.

Questions

Installation questions

Which parts of Sydney do you install in?
The Sydney metropolitan area. Whether a particular job works depends more on the site than the suburb — access for materials, working room at the opening, and what the gate or fence is fixing to. Send your address with the enquiry and we will confirm.
Do you install outside Sydney?
No. Outside the Sydney metropolitan area we supply only, and you or your builder arranges a local installer. We would rather say that plainly than take a job we cannot service properly.
Do I need new posts?
It depends on what is there. Existing posts can sometimes be reused if they are sound, plumb and appropriately sized for the weight of the new gate — but an undersized or moving post will make a good gate behave badly. We assess this at the site measure and tell you either way.
Can you remove my old gate or fence?
Removal and disposal can usually be included. Mention it in the enquiry so it is priced in rather than discovered on installation day.
Do you handle automation?
Automation needs to be discussed before manufacture, because it changes how the gate is built, where the motor mounts and what hardware is fitted. Raise it in your enquiry even if you are not automating immediately — building a gate that can be automated later is far easier than retrofitting one that was not designed for it.
What about council approval?
Planning controls on fence height and style vary by council and by property, particularly in heritage conservation areas. Those are matters for your council, not for us — check before you commit to a design, and tell us what you have been told so we can quote to suit it.
