Materials and workmanship are covered by the consumer guarantees under Australian Consumer Law. Ask us about the cover that applies to your product before you order.

What warranty covers

Materials and workmanship

A warranty on a fabricated product generally addresses two separate things: the structure — welds, joints, framing and the way the product was put together — and the finish, meaning the powder coating applied to it. They are distinguished because they fail differently and for different reasons.

Aluminium itself does not rust, which removes the failure mode that ends most steel gates. What can still degrade over a long period is the coating, and how quickly depends heavily on the environment. A gate 200 metres from surf is in a materially harsher place than one in a western-suburbs backyard, and any honest warranty reflects that.

Maintenance matters too, and it is genuinely simple: wash the product down periodically with clean water and a mild detergent, more often in coastal or industrial areas. Salt and grime left sitting on a coated surface is what shortens its life. Nothing more elaborate is required.

Your rights

Australian Consumer Law

Goods sold in Australia come with consumer guarantees that cannot be excluded. Among other things, they must be of acceptable quality, fit for the purpose they were sold for, and match the description given. Those guarantees apply in addition to any warranty we provide, and nothing in our warranty terms limits them.

If you believe there is a problem with something we have supplied, contact us with photographs and a description of what you are seeing. We would much rather look at it than have you live with it.

Questions

Warranty questions

What warranty period applies to my product?
Warranty terms depend on the product, the finish specified and the environment it is installed in, so we confirm the applicable warranty with your quote rather than publishing a single figure here. Ask for it in writing before you order — you are entitled to have it stated plainly.
Does the warranty cover the powder-coated finish?
Finish and structure are usually treated separately, because they fail in different ways and are affected by different things. The specific terms for your product are confirmed with your quote.
Does living near the coast affect my warranty?
Coastal exposure is genuinely harder on a powder-coated finish, and finish warranties commonly reflect that. Tell us the address at enquiry stage so the product is specified appropriately and so the warranty position is clear before you order rather than after.
What can void a warranty?
Typically: damage from impact or misuse, modification after installation, installation not carried out to our requirements on supply-only orders, and neglect of basic maintenance such as washing down. Specific exclusions are set out in the warranty terms provided with your quote.
Do I still have rights if something goes wrong outside the warranty period?
Yes. Australian Consumer Law guarantees apply regardless of any manufacturer warranty and cannot be excluded by it. A manufacturer warranty sits on top of those rights, it does not replace them.
