Terms

We do not hold stock. Each gate and each fencing run is fabricated for a specific opening after a quote has been accepted. That has two consequences worth stating plainly: nothing can be priced before dimensions are known, and a manufactured product cannot simply be returned because it was ordered in the wrong size.

A quote sets out the product, dimensions, style, colour, hardware, and whether installation, posts, removal or freight are included. Anything not listed in the quote is not included in it.

Quotes are valid for the period stated on them. Material costs move, and a quote issued months earlier may need to be reissued rather than honoured indefinitely.

For supply-only orders the measurements are provided by you and manufacture proceeds on those figures. If the figures are wrong, the product will be built wrong, and remaking it is a new order rather than a warranty matter. Please read our measuring guide and measure the opening at multiple points before submitting them.

For installed work in the Sydney metropolitan area we take the measurements ourselves and carry the responsibility for them.

Powder-coated colours are selected from a range confirmed at quoting. Colour appearance varies with light, texture and gloss level, and screens and printed swatches do not reproduce a powder-coat finish exactly. Where an exact match to existing work matters, tell us at quoting so it can be addressed before manufacture.

Minor variation between separate production batches is a normal characteristic of powder coating rather than a defect.

Freight is quoted per order because it depends on the size and quantity of the product, the destination and access at the delivery address. Delivery timeframes are estimates and are affected by carriers and conditions outside our control.

Please inspect a delivery on arrival and photograph any apparent transit damage immediately. Damage reported promptly with evidence can be resolved; damage reported long after delivery frequently cannot.

Installation is available in the Sydney metropolitan area only, and remains subject to site suitability — access, working room, ground conditions and what the product is fixing to.

Where existing posts or structures are to be reused, their suitability is assessed at the site measure. If they are not adequate to carry the product, we will say so before proceeding rather than install onto something that will fail.

Approvals, permits and compliance with local planning controls are the property owner's responsibility. This applies particularly to fence heights, heritage conservation areas and any product forming part of a swimming pool barrier.

Payment terms are set out in your quote. No payment is taken through this website — there is no cart, no checkout and no card processing on slatgates.com.au.

Changes requested before manufacture begins are handled as a re-quote. Once fabrication has started, changes to dimensions, style or colour may not be possible and may incur cost. Cancellation after manufacture has commenced is dealt with case by case, in light of work already carried out.

Warranty terms applicable to your product are confirmed in writing with your quote. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies the consumer guarantees that apply under Australian Consumer Law, which operate in addition to any warranty we provide.
