Vertical Slat
Aluminium Vertical Slat Single Gates
The flat slat profile turned on end, in a single hinged leaf. Adds height to a frontage and handles ground fall better than a horizontal panel.
Custom-made to your opening · Supplied Australia-wide · Installed across Sydney
White vertical picket double gates with matching fencing either side, keeping a consistent picket spacing across the whole frontage.
We do not yet have project photography of a completed vertical slat double gate. The photo shows a vertical picket double gate — a different infill profile, but the same double-leaf arrangement across a driveway. The diagram shows the vertical slat profile.
Vertical Slat Gates
A matched pair of vertical slat leaves. The formal option for a driveway, and the practical one where the ground falls across the opening.

The detail
Vertical slat double gates read very differently to their horizontal equivalent. The upright rhythm gives a driveway entry a more formal, almost estate-like presence, and it repeats naturally in any vertical fencing or balustrade already on the frontage.
On a sloping driveway they are also the more forgiving choice. Because each leaf can be raked along its bottom rail while every slat stays plumb, a vertical pair follows the fall of the crossover instead of leaving a wedge of daylight under one leaf. That is the single most common complaint about swing gates on sloping entries, and it is largely a styling decision rather than a construction one.
Set-out still matters. On a good pair the two leaves are set out as one panel and then divided, so the slat spacing continues evenly across the centre join rather than restarting at each leaf. Get that wrong and the gate looks like two gates that happen to be next to each other.
If automation is on the table, raise it before manufacture. Vertical leaves are stiff in the direction that matters for an automated swing arm, but hinge, post and frame decisions all change once a motor is involved.
