Vertical Slat
Aluminium Vertical Slat Single Gates
The flat slat profile turned on end, in a single hinged leaf. Adds height to a frontage and handles ground fall better than a horizontal panel.
Custom-made to your opening · Supplied Australia-wide · Installed across Sydney
A run of horizontal slat fencing along a garden boundary, with panels sized between posts to suit the existing garden edge.
We do not yet have project photography of a completed vertical slat fence. The diagram shows the vertical slat arrangement; the photo shows the slat profile and finish in a horizontal run.
Vertical Slat Fencing
Repeating vertical slat panels between posts. The panel system that copes best with ground that is not level.

The detail
Vertical slat panels do the same job as horizontal ones but handle sloping ground far more gracefully. Because the slats run top to bottom, a panel can be raked to follow the fall of the land while every slat stays plumb — so the fence follows the ground without the stepped profile a horizontal run needs.
They also add apparent height. On a narrow frontage, or anywhere you want the boundary to feel taller and more formal than its actual height, vertical slats do that for free.
As with any panel run, bay width is set from your total length so the panels divide evenly. Slat spacing sets how much the fence screens, exactly as it does on a horizontal panel — direction changes the look, not the privacy.
Practically, vertical slats shed water and leaf litter better than horizontal ones, because there is no upward-facing slat edge for debris to sit on. On a shaded boundary or under trees, that is worth having.
